Pow Wow

The second weekend of June is always the Homecoming of the Three Fires pow wow at Riverside Park, and is one of my favorites. It's always fun to see old friends and practice some photography. Since it didn't start until 1:00, we decided to forgo Rainah's nap and get there when it started. We actually got there early and walked around the trader's tables and had some amazing fry bread, Indian tacos, and fry bread dogs. It was a beautiful day, but the "summer snow" was in full force and started to get a bit irritating to my eyes.
Rainah had a rough time and was obviously tired. She wanted to be carried around the whole time and was pretty whiny. I didn't have the opportunity to take any pictures, but we did dance around the circle once. Don got a few shots of that:

She wasn't interested in walking/dancing herself in the circle, but when we were walking around, she would occasionally stop and bob up and down to the beat of the drum.

Needless to say, we didn't get to stay long and she fell asleep almost immediately in the car.

When we got back home she was off and running, though, and back to her favorite thing: chalk. :)
