Christmas 2009

Christmas this year was so much fun with all three kids being totally into it. We started bright and early with a yummy breakfast that mom whipped up and TONS of gifts. You'd think these kids had actually been good this year! It was great all being together! Among many other things, Hayden and Talan got this year's hot gift... Zhu Zhu Pets, which they all loved playing with. Rainah got a few games, a Leapster, a personalized book from Grandma and Papa, and a "Big Sister" shirt to announce the news that we are expecting.
We had a fabulous traditional ham dinner and then vegged out pretty much the rest of the evening between all the yummy desserts and chasing after over-tired children. It was a great day, though- next year will be even crazier with FIVE little ones! WoW!

Christmas in the D

This morning we got up and headed out to the Detroit area to have Christmas with the Kellogg side of the family.  Mom called before we left and said that the roads were really icy and it was freezing rain there, so not to rush.  We didn't have any problems until we were east of Lansing, and then there were cars in ditches, trucks sliding all over, and lots of ice.  It took us awhile but we arrived safely and just in time for lunch.  Dave had to work, so we just hung out for the afternoon (and Jill, Jess, Justin and I made our day after Christmas stop at Target- cut to Rainah shouting, "Yeah, Target:!)
When Dave got to mom and dad's we had a delish dinner and then tore into the gifts.  Everyone made out pretty good again and then we ate yet again... yummy desserts, which there are never a shortage of at the Kellogg's.
We got some very cute Santa Clause pictures made out of Hayden and Talan's hand prints, and Hayden got us an ornament for our Christmas tree from his Secret Santa shop.  He also got Rainah a very cute stuffed whale which she just loves.  There were lots more toys and the kids all had a great time playing together.
Thanks for letting all the craziness happen all over again at your place mom and dad!

One word... NUTTY!

That would be the sign for, "More".  She knows exactly what to do now!

Christmas at the Petersen's

This morning Don and I got up a little early and got ready before Rainah woke up.  He brought her down and she got to go through her stocking... Santa left her a little stuffed Cookie Monster, a few little Dora toys, some fruit, and some candy.
We got her dressed and then she watched a Dora video while we waited for Aunt Kris, Uncle Will, Isabelle and Stephen to get here from Grand Haven.
We had some cinnamon rolls for breakfast and when everyone got here we had a great time opening gifts.  It took Rainah a little while to figure it all out, but she had fund both opening and watching.  The kids all got some great stuff (and the adults did too!).  Rainah got some legos, some Leapfrog toys and games, a V-Motion game console, and 2 games to go with it, and a few other little things.
We had a nice ham dinner with twice baked potatoes, rolls, and corn, and then lots of fun desserts including cookies, cheesecake, candy, and chocolate covered peanut butter balls.
It was such a great day.  Tomorrow we're heading to Novi to celebrate with my side of the family... another busy day!  Merry Christmas everyone!
