Later in the day I happened to glance out the back window and realized there was a deer right at the edge of the woods. I looked again and realized that there were two fawns and a little later another deer came over. They were so cute, but I could only get a few shots through the window. I knew as soon as I started to open the door they'd bolt... so they aren't great photos, but they are still so sweet to see!

Please Surrender Your Passport
A few months ago we decided we'd better get a passport for Rainah just in case we decided to go on a last minute vacation out of the country. I finally got everything together and Don and I went up to the post office to sign what we needed to and send it off. I was shocked when just a week and a half later it showed up in the mail! So now Rainah is ready to see the world!

World's Largest Hummingbird
This morning when we got up I realized that our hummingbird feeders had been infiltrated! Something had bowled over our edging knocking down a few sections, removed the bottom of one of the feeders, and emptied it. Very clever!
When I was looking out at the damages, I saw this: biggest hummingbird I've ever seen!

Now that's a hummingbird!

Rockin out to Fireflight
Uncle Justin's band, Fireflight was in town this weekend, playing a festival in Gaylord Saturday, and a concert at a church in St. Joseph on Sunday. We were able to make it to St. Joseph and see them play. We left right when Don got home from teaching and got there around 4:30. We watched the sound check and Jessica and Rainah did some dancing. Then Jess, Don, Rainah, and I went to get some dinner while the band finished setting up.
They went on at 7pm and played for about an hour- they sounded great and were fun to watch. There was a good crowd and it was all I could do to keep Rainah out of the mosh pit (haha). We love seeing them play- they are doing great on the charts right now! Hopefully we'll get to see them again soon!

Soundcheck

Sweet little flat screens they had at each booth (very cool youth room!)
